After breast cancer, the reconstruction process has been long. The staff at CAPS have made the experience very positive. They are like my extended family. They truly care about their patients. I have recommended two close friends who need reconstructive surgery to Dr. Heck.

Education & Experience

Dr. Heck graduated with honors from The Medical College of Ohio in 1995. He was awarded the Marion C. Anderson and Toledo Surgery Society Awards for his academic achievement in surgery and earned the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society Membership.

After medical school, Dr. Heck completed four years of general surgery residency training at The Medical College of Ohio. He was awarded The Outstanding Surgery Resident Award and The Golden Apple Resident Award for excellence in surgical teaching.

Dr. Heck then completed plastic surgery residency at The Medical University of South Carolina. He was granted a highly competitive Aesthetic and Breast fellowship in Los Angeles. He trained under the renowned surgeon, Dr. W. Grant Stevens, M.D., F.A.C.S. Under Dr. Steven’s care, Dr. Heck perfected his skills in aesthetic surgery and practiced cutting-edge procedures.

Additional Work

Surgery and a member of Columbus Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery since 2002. He is the current President of the Riverside Outpatient Surgery Center and has been an active board member for over six years. Riverside Outpatient Surgery Center aligns with his professional commitment to deliver safe, quality, and individualized patient care in an outpatient setting.

With his finely trained eye for aesthetics, Dr. Heck is highly sought-after as a judge for figure, fitness, and bikini competitions.  He has served as a judge at the Arnold Classic for bikini and model search and for both Mrs. Ohio and Mrs. Kentucky.

Personal Life

Dr. Heck is married to his accomplished wife and CAPS MedSpa Clinical Director, Jennifer Heck, M.S.N., R.N.  Proud parents of two grown children, they most enjoy being together as a family. Dr. Heck has been an active member of the Upper Arlington community for over 15 years. Some of his favorite times are at their lake house, where he can enjoy the more relaxed pace of lake life. For fun, Dr. Heck goes to country concerts and spends time with good friends.

Charitable Work

Dr. Heck dedicates his time and resources to multiple charities, including Autism Speaks. He has been involved in the Special Olympics and supports women with breast cancer through reconstruction surgery and fundraising.
